I fully expected the cells to be crap and they were.

The final result has a bit less travel than the (undamaged, original) shutter button in my DSC-H5, but it works perfectly.

I started with the button… which is chromed plastic, nothing too fancy, and not at all hard to machine.

Good news… * apart from some scuffs, the camera still works * he managed to find the shutter button * and the button bezel * and the spring!
