The Butterfly Bush in front of the house attracts all kinds of insects, including Monarch Butterflies (shown here on the Goldenrod planted in the garden):

Creatures living in the wild are playing in a tough league. There are few second chances.
I love Monarchs and grow milkweed to help them along. However, the Mantis know what it must do, to survive.
