Price Scanner: Connection Refused

I loves me some good error message:

Price Scanner - Connection Refused
Price Scanner – Connection Refused

A closer look:

Price Scanner - Connection Refused - Detail
Price Scanner – Connection Refused – Detail

If the popup appeared just one pixel lower, you could easily decode the message behind it; perhaps * Out of Service * fits?

At least it doesn’t show an OK? button.

My first guess was “Out of Commission”, but your guess is a better fit. And it’s generally a good idea to refuse connections from windows machines.

My “favorite” is still http://dbsi.org/dist/iis-fail.gif but http://dbsi.org/dist/gtalk-error.gif is a close second…

Obviously, they need UI simplification. A single button should suffice:
Total system failure: venting with flame. [OK]
